Bahrain - Health Insurance Fund holds board meeting

The Health Insurance Fund (Shifa) board of directors held its regular meeting at the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) headquarters.
SCH President, Shifa board chairman, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa chaired the meeting, which was attended by Finance and National Economy Minister, Shifa Vice Chairman, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa.
Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rashid Mohammed Al-Maraj, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sherogui, lawyer Farid Ghazi Rafea, Jassim Hassan Abdula’al, Finance and National Economy Ministry Undersecretary Hamad Faisal Al-Malki, SCH Secretary-General Ibrahim Al-Nawakhda and other officials were also present.
The session discussed ways of benefiting from the Saudi procedure in setting up warehouse to store stocks of drugs. In this regard, A SHC delegation will pay a visit to Saudi Arabia to discuss joint coordination to provide strategic stocks of medicine.
The panel were updated about the developments in implementing the the National Health Insurance programme, particularly self management, the Health Insurance Fund (Shifa), the primary healthcare, expatriates’ insurance and the media committee.
