Saudi Arabia launches building ins. policy before year-end

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs in charge of technical affairs said that the insurance policy for construction buildings has been approved in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency.
Khalid bin Mohammed al-Jammaz said on Thursday that he will start activating the insurance policy for construction buildings on December 20, 2019, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Al-Jammaz revealed that the Ministry is working on re-engineering the procedures for issuing the construction license, in addition to its work on standardizing and facilitating the procedures and mechanisms of the license with the relevant authorities to qualify the consultancy offices and contractors in one platform and approved and accessible to beneficiaries of public and private sectors..
This came during the holding of the National Committee of the Saudi Building Code, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Energy and Civil Defense, in cooperation with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, today, a specialized workshop on the procedures and steps for the acceptance and appointment of providers of inspection services on the application of the Saudi construction code for consulting offices.
