Marrakech - Morocco was elected, in the person of Youssef Fassi Fihri, Director General of the Central Reinsurance Company (SCR), president of the Board of Directors of the Afro-Asian Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance (FAIR) for a two-year term.

The election of the Kingdom by the General Assembly of the Federation took place on the sidelines of the 26th Conference of FAIR, which opened on Monday in Marrakesh with the participation of nearly 1,000 officials, decision-makers and actors from 54 countries.

A ceremony to hand over the presidency of FAIR from Bahrain, in the person of outgoing President Yassir Albaharna, to Morocco, in the person of Fihri, was organized at the opening of this meeting, which marks the beginning of the Moroccan mandate.

FAIR, which comprises 245 members from 54 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, uses the reinsurance pool system for the benefit of Afro-Asian companies.

Held under the Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the 26th FAIR Conference, organized by the SCR under the theme "The New Economic Barriers in the Afro-Asian Insurance Markets", brings together the representatives of various insurance and reinsurance companies in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
