UAE – Insurers should issue contracts in Arabic
Tuesday, 07 03 2018, Category: Insurance and Reinsurance, Country: World
The new amendments issued by the Insurance Authority compel all insurance companies operating in the UAE to issue all insurance contracts in Arabic. Moreover, insurers should print excluded benefits and covers in a different color and visible format.
In detail the Federal Law No 3 of year 2018 amended some articles of Law No 6 of year 2007, which established the Insurance Authority. In article No 28, it says all insurance contracts have to be written in Arabic even though other languages are allowed. However, in the case of a dispute the Arabic text is used as a reference.
