Egypt – 5 insurers control 87% of life premiums

5 insurance companies control 86.7% of life insurance and capitalization premiums out of the total premiums written during the financial year 2016-2017.
The annual report of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority about the performance of the insurance sector revealed that the first five companies wrote EGP 8.8 billion premiums out of the total market of EGP 10.2 billion.
Misr life was the first company with premiums of EGP 3.3 billion and a market share of 32.3% followed by “Met Life” with premiums of EGP 2.2 billion and a market share of 21.5%.
