Saudi Arabia – Charging the insured health service fees

An informed source at the ministry of health revealed that arrangements are be made to charge fees on health services provided by medical centers run by the ministry for those covered by cooperative health insurance.
According to “Al Yaum” newspaper the informed source said that imposing a fee schedule at medical centers on those not eligible for treatment is a move along this direction. A number of medical centers will be designated by the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance in this regard.
The source said that the arrangements will push the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance to officially designate the medical centers. Therefore, a material contribution will be paid to provide services to those covered by the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance.
