After the suspension of Seha, a number of insurance leaders, businessmen and experts called for the need to build a partnership between the Supreme Council of Health and national insurance companies to manage the health insurance portfolio of citizens and residents. This is in order to ensure the provision of quality service at competitive prices as well as preserve the interests of all parties involved in the insurance business.
They added that the national insurance companies have accumulated considerable experience in the field of health insurance during the past years and are therefore eligible for managing this process in a way that ensures best practices and limits the abuse by service providers. They also stressed that the decision to suspend Soha represents a strong support to the private sector, especially national insurance companies, and will contribute to the growth and development of the insurance industry in the domestic market.
