The World Bank in Bahrain to start the comprehensive health insurance

H.E. Doctor Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa President of the Supreme Council for Health revealed that a delegation from the World Bank will visit the Kingdom of Bahrain in two weeks in order to step up a plan for a comprehensive health insurance system in the Kingdom.
The President of the Supreme Council of Health said in a statement to “Akhbar Al-Khaleej” that they are currently in the process of implementing the project adding that further to the action plan developed with the World Bank it will be submitted to the government in order to start implementation.
H.E. Doctor Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa also that the comprehensive health insurance system will be implemented over 5 years where the project necessitates estimating the cost of the patient in the hospitals and medical centers, applying the electronic medical records. He clarified that the main areas of the first phase of the national health insurance system will be agreed upon with the World Bank that will carry out a consultative role for numerous studies on which this program will be built.
