The General Authority for Competition (GAC) started a comprehensive study on the health insurance market structure and the impact of entities operating in the sector on competition, an official source said.
The study aims to create a perception about the sector's market structure and the possible practices that may negatively impact fair competition between health insurance and medical services providers and other related companies, in addition to reviewing the nature of the relationship between those companies, the source added.
The authority is open to receiving views from specialists and public on the health insurance sector, as well as any related information, which will accordingly contribute to the accuracy of the study and the effectiveness of proposed policies.
The GAC further said that it publishes the outcomes of its studies on sectors to achieve the principles of participation and transparency.
