Arab Re honors Chakib Abou Zaid, the GAIF Secretary General

The Arab Reinsurance Company represented by its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sheikh Khaldoun Barakat and the members of the Board, honored the Secretary General of the General Arab Insurance Federation Mr. Chakib Abou Zaid, who was elected to fulfill this role recently. Sheikh Barakat also paid tribute to the previous president of the Lebanese Insurance Association – ACAL, Mr. Max Zaccar who is succeeded by Mr. Elie Torbey, the CEO of the CLA.

The reception was held at the “Al Sayyad” restaurant in Ain Mreisse, in presence of insurance personalities, insurance CEOs including Mr. Fateh Bekdache, President of the National Bureau for Compulsory Insurance (NBCI) in Lebanon in addition to economists, bankers and journalists.

Furthermore, Sheikh Khaldoun Barakat delivered trophies to both Mr. Chakib Abou Zaid, the new Secretary General of the General Arab Insurance Federation and Mr. Max Zaccar, the former president of ACAL. Sheikh Barakat wished luck and success to Mr. Abou Zaid in his leadership of GAIF despite the economic, political and security challenges of the Arab markets. On the other hand, Mr. Chakib Abou Zaid detailed briefly his projects as Secretary General of GAIF including the recently issued newsletter.

This celebration was preceded by the meeting of the Board of Directors, who appointed Mr. Hussein Mallouk as the new General Manager of the Arab Reinsurance Company noting that he previously held the position of Deputy General Manager. The Board was also satisfied with the growth trajectory of Arab Re.
