KSA – Premiums reach SAR 7.5 B in Q2

The written premiums of the insurance sector in Saudi Arabia reached SAR 7.55 billion during the second quarter of the current year 2018 compared to SAR 8.79 billion during the same period last year. This represents a decrease of 14.1%.
According to the analysis of “Al Eqtisadiah” the figures of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority “SAMA” indicate that insurance penetration reached 1.03% in the second quarter of year 2018 compared to 1.41% during the same period of year 2017.
However, insurance penetration based on non-oil GDP reached 1.57% during the second quarter compared to 1.98% during the same period in year 2017.
