KSA – Insurers should issue ins. for people above age 65

The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance said that insurance companies should issue contracts for people above age 65. Insurers should also offer treatment in emergency cases within 15 days provided that the invoice is submitted within 30 working days.
Moreover, the council clarified that the insured person can obtain medical treatment outside the network of service providers on the basis of indemnification and according to the conditions of the contract within 15 working days based on the standard prices if the invoice of treatment is submitted.
Furthermore, the council said that the employer is not obliged to insure the parents of the employee. However, newborns have to be covered under the contract of the mother within a maximum of 30 days.
