Morocco – GWP at 40.65 billion dirhams in 2017

According to the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (FMSAR), Wafa Assurance has the largest share of the premium market issued in 2017, followed by RMA Insurance.
According to the Insurance and Social Insurance Supervisory Authority (ACAPS), insurance sector sales in the year 2017 amounted to 40.65 billion dirhams, compared to 37.26 billion dirhams in 2016, an increase of 9.1%.
The number of emissions increased by 10.9% in 2017, reaching 38.73 billion dirhams compared to 34.91 billion dirhams a year ago. It is distributed as follows:
Life and capitalization operations: 16.988 billion dirhams compared with 14.29 billion in 2016, an increase of 18.8%;
The non-life operations: 21.75 billion Dirhams (53.5% of total revenue) against 20.62 billion in 2016, an increase of 5.5%;
Contrary to the report of ACAPS, the Moroccan Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (FMSAR), the distribution of premiums by insurance companies in 2017 indicates the market share.
