Friday, 05 04 2018, Category: Insurance and Reinsurance, Country: Jordan
The Jordan Insurance Federation will hold a training during the period 13-15/5/2018. It is the fifteenth program of the federation this year and it will tackle “The Role of the Actuary in Assessing the Technical Reserves for Insurance Companies”. The lecturer will be Mr. Alaa Karrain who is a qualified actuary at the Society of Actuaries (USA), a certified consultant and a member of the Institute of Actuaries in London. He is also licensed to practice as an actuary in the Jordanian, Emirati and Palestinian markets since year 2007.
Moreover, the training has an Arab dimension and offers 18 training hours over 3 days in order to introduce the different kinds of technical reserves, the importance of technical reserves and the role of the actuary in calculating technical reserves as well as the methodologies to calculate them (especially unearned premium reserve, unexpired risk reserve, premium deficiency reserve, incurred but not reported, and life mathematical reserves). It will give practical examples about insurance technical reserves in motor and health insurance and the role of regulatory authorities in defining technical reserves and methodologies (with practical examples from the Jordanian market and a number of Arab countries).
