Egypt – GWP grow by 33% in 2017

The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority announced that the premiums written by insurance companies grew by 33% during the last financial year 2016/2017 reaching EGP 24 billion compared with EGP 18.2 billion during the previous financial year 2015/2016.
Life insurance companies wrote premiums of EGP 10.7 billion in the last financial year 2016/2017 compared to EGP 8.3 billion in the previous year 2015/2016 i.e. a growth rate of 22.5%.
Moreover, the non-life insurance companies wrote premiums of EGP 12.83 billion in the financial year 2016/2017 compared to EGP 9 billion in the previous financial year 2015/2016 i.e. a growth rate of 42%.
