Bahrain – No health insurance fees on citizens

The Head of the Services Committee in the House of Representatives, Mr. Abbas Al-Madi said that MPs agreed not to charge Bahraini citizens for health services in the draft health insurance law that will be submitted to the house of representatives in its next session. He stressed that the committee will provide the best package of benefits covering all the health services, which the citizens need. The benefits include 19 services of which the contributions will all be paid by the government. They include tests, diagnosis, treatment, primary care, lab tests, X-rays, surgeries, maternity, in patient services, dental car (does not include cosmetic care), psychiatric treatment, natural treatment, nursing, in vitro under certain conditions, obesity treatment according to certain conditions, cosmetic necessary treatment, medicines, prostheses, expenses of accompanying person, and all chronic sicknesses.
