Insurers commonly agree that the motor traffic accidents increased. This phenomenon had an impact on the profits of the sector even though the profits of “Saham” were good. However, the company is still worried about this situation.
Mr. Mohammed OUDRHIRI a general manager at “Saham” said during a seminar to present the annual results of the company that the number of car accidents increased significantly during the past year triggering large losses for insurers. In fact, traffic congestion increased on Moroccan roads given the number of vehicles per square kilometer i.e. the number of vehicles did not exceed 1.5 million car in 2006. However, the number of vehicles exceeded 3.7 million vehicles in year 2016 but the infrastructure development did not cope with this increase according to Mr. Oudrhiri.
