Saudi Arabia – Premiums at SAR 8 bn in 3rd quarter

The total premiums written by insurance companies in Saudi Arabia during the third quarter of year 2017 reached SAR 8.25 billion (USD 2.2 billion) compared to SAR 7.67 billion (USD 2.04 billion) in the third quarter of year 2016, which represents an 8% growth rate.
The health insurance line was the first in term of premiums according to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority during the third quarter of year 2017 as it represents 55.4 percent of total premiums i.e. SAR 4.58 billion.
Moreover, general insurance represented 41.4% of total premiums, which is equivalent to SAR 3.4 billion and includes motor, property, accident & liability, marine, engineering, energy, aviation and other insurance branches.
