Two Syrian brothers suspected of selling false insurance papers in Metn’s Rabieh were arrested by the Internal Security Forces, a statement from the body’s media office said Monday.
Syrians nationals identified as W.A., 45, and S.A., 38, reportedly attained the forged papers from a travel agency in Cola.
The arrest came on the heels of investigations carried out by a unit of the ISF’s Judicial Police.
The investigations were initiated when an insurance company filed a complaint against a travel agency claiming it issued fake insurance in the company’s name.
During interrogations, both detainees confessed to the suspected forgery crimes.
Further investigations carried out Friday at the site in Cola led to the arrest of Lebanese A.D., 68, for owning an unlicensed travel agency.
It also led to the arrest of Syrian national M.A., 21, on suspicion of “unprofessionally” printing fake insurance papers using a computer.
