Tunisia – 90% of motorcycles uninsured

Mr. Kamel Chibani, CEO of the Tunisian federation of insurance companies (FTUSA) confirmed that 90% of motorcycles on Tunisian roads are uninsured (approximately 2 million motorcycles).
He said that the phenomenon of uninsured motorcycles causes an increase in deadly accidents according to the polices although a model motorcycle insurance was adopted since year 2016.
Moreover, Mr. Chibani clarified that the cost of not insuring motorcycles could reach 400% for insurers i.e. for every TD 100 premiums, TD 400 are spent as claims.
