Informed sources said that insurance companies strengthened control mechanisms in order to identify doubtful claims sent by the insureds in order to obtain motor accident claim reimbursements.
This initiative follows a marked increase during the last months in the claims paid by insurance companies, which increased by 14% during the past year compared to the previous year. Motor traffic claims exceeded 5 billion Dirhams i.e. 47% of total insurance claims compared to only one third of claims in the previous year.
Finally, this source said that three large insurance companies held meetings to coordinate and share information in order to identify accident fraudsters.
