Individual Saudi spending on health insurance up by 8%

The average spending of individuals on motor insurance in KSA decreased by 3% whereas health insurance spending increased by 7%. Moreover, health and motor insurance represented 82.1% of total insurance operations in the third quarter 2017 which a two percentage point decrease compared to a share of 85.3 per cent during the same period in the year 2016.
According to the research unit of “Al Eqtisadia” newspaper the financial statements of listed insurance companies in Saudi Arabia show that the decrease of the combined share of motor and health insurance in the total insurance spending is related to the decrease in the motor insurance spending of individuals.
