Saudi Arabia – Enforced cover for 12 health benefits

The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance revealed that some insurance companies and health third party administrators are not offering the health care services stipulated in the unified health contract. The complaints received during year 2017 helped identify 12 benefits, which are not being covered; and his against the health insurance cooperative law and it executive laws. The 12 benefits include dialysis, dental care, circumcision, diabetes, congenital cases, rehabilitation, hearing devices and others.
The General Secretariat issued instructions to health insurance companies and third party administrators to comply with the unified insurance contract and the stipulated benefits within 10 days. Insurers have also to present the proofs about the accepted treatments.
