Saudi Arabia – Premiums at SAR 11.4 billion in 90 days

A report issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) revealed that total insurance written premiums reached SAR 11.4 billion with a 46% increase compared to the last quarter of year 2016 when premiums reached SAR 7.7 billion. The insurance sector includes 10 lines in addition to the line that groups remaining categories i.e. aviation, energy, property, motor, protection and savings, health, marine, engineering, accidents and liability.
The report indicated that health insurance was the most important line with 46% of total premiums, followed motor insurance 37.4% and property insurance at 5.8%.
