UAE – Most hospitals refuse “ID” for treatment

Many persons involved with government and private facilities confirmed that linking the “identity card” to the health insurance system still needs to be validated and enacted. They confirmed that they still have to submit the “Theqa” and “Daman” health insurance cards when they ask for medical or health services even though the national health insurance company “Daman” says that the “identity card” can replace the health insurance card.
Moreover, the users said “they submit “Theqa” or “Daman” instead of the “identity card” in the hospitals as well as government and private centers since they did not see any change in the service announced by “Daman” i.e. the use of the Identity Card instead of the health insurance card starting the current month of April”. Additionally, some of the users indicate that a few number of hospitals rely on the identity card instead of the health insurance card, so the issue needs further awareness and implementation about this culture.
