Dubai Health Authority: 70 monthly complaints from insured

Dr Haidar Al Yousef, Director of the Health Funding at Dubai Health Authority said that the Authority is receiving currently 70 complaints on a monthly basis from the beneficiaries of the health insurance system in Dubai. 95% of these complaints are treated in less than four working days. Moreover, most of these complaints are related to a misunderstanding about the coverage mechanism in the insurance contract or to the wrong choice of the service provider.
He clarified that the number of complaints from beneficiaries is constantly decreasing due to a better awareness and understanding of laws. In the past complaints were as high as 250 complaints on a monthly basis through the electronic system, so he expects the number of complaints to further decrease in the future.
