UAE – AED 161 billion insurance investments during 4 years

The value of the investments of the insurance sector in the country reached AED 160.8 billion during the past four years and they have been distributed over the 4 main categories: “stocks and bonds”, “loans”, “deposits”, “lands and buildings”, and “cash”. National insurance companies accounted for AED 97.7 billion of these investments i.e. 61% of the total whereas foreign insurance companies represented 39% of investments with a value of AED 63.1 billion.
Moreover, “stocks and bonds” represented the largest part of the investments of local and international insurance companies in the country accounting for AED 88.3 billion or 55% of total investments that reached approximately AED 160 billion.
