UAE – AED 1.58 billion insurance stocks’ gains in H1

The insurance stocks listed in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi financial exchanges closed the first half of the current year with an increase in total market value and gains of AED 1.58, which represent an 11.6% increase, so total insurance market value reached AED 15.11 billion in the end of the last month of June compared to approximately AED 13.54 billion market value by then end of the month of December last year.
The total market value of the 14 companies listed in the Dubai Financial Market increased by around AED 558 million during the first six months of the current year, so the total value reached AED 5.73 billion compared to AED 5.17 billion by year-end 2016, which represents an 11% growth i.e. it accounts for 35% of total gains. Moreover, the 17 companies listed in the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange added AED 1.02 billion gains, so total market value reached AED 9.4 billion by the end of June compared to AED 8.36 billion by the end of the last month of December i.e. a 12.4% increase accounting for 65% of total gains.
