Members of parliament in Kuwait are considering the increase of fees against the services offered to expatriates in order to get closer to the fees applied in the private sector noting that it is necessary for fees not be too heavy on expatriates.
Mr. Waleed Al-Tabatabaie member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly priced health insurance for the visiting expatriate at a maximum of KD 10.
Mr. Al-Tabatabaie preferred the treatment to be linked to residency when the resident renews his residency permit provided the sponsor pays for the treatments costs.
Al-Tabatabaie told “Al Rai” that health insurance was previously approved but the government failed to be reimbursed by insurance companies so the previous mistakes have to be addressed.
