Mr. Hesham Tashkandi, Acting Director General, Insurance Control at Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority revealed to “Al Eqtisadia” that the authority targets raising the Saudization percentage of the insurance sector to 65% with an annual addition of 5% noting that is the percentage that should be implemented by companies.
Moreover, Mr. Tashkandi added at the margins of the “Second Insurance Career Day” held in Riyadh yesterday that the Saudization of employment at some insurers reached 85% and it is not below 55% noting that some jobs were 100% saudized such as customer service, motor claims, call centers and complaints.
He indicated that the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority is convinced that the insurance industry is promising and that Saudis will excel in this field noting that SAMA is concerned about the Saudization of leading and technical positions more than the remaining positions since there are good and leading positions that need to be filled by young Male and Female Saudis.
