The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance designated 137 hospitals owned by the ministry of health to be part of the health care service providers list used in health insurance. This move will strengthen health insurance cover by expanding operational capacity and increasing the number of health care providers especially in the regions that not have sufficient private medical facilities.
Moreover, the spokesman of the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance Mr. Yasser Al-Maarik said that the designation of medical facilities owned by the ministry of health is part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the council and the ministry in order to increase the operational capacity of health care service providers by adopting 200 hospitals under the scope of the council indicating that this agreement will help strengthen cooperation between concerned parties and help develop the health insurance industry.
