Wednesday, 05 10 2017, Category: Insurance and Reinsurance, Country: Qatar
A number of customers made complaints about comprehensive motor insurance prices, which are excessive according to these customers. They claim that annual insurance fees are too high and do not match the services offered compared to Europe or neighboring countries. Therefore, insurers have to improve service in order to justify these high prices and they should work on improving credibility and rationality when setting prices and they should clarify insurance contracts.
Moreover, these customers indicated to “Al Arab” newspapers that insurers are too commercial and do focus enough on services. Insurers are said to charge high prices without a clear transparency about the services offered. Customers claim that insurers try to avoid honoring claims and they achieve thereby profits of 90% of premium reportedly. Therefore, they asked regulators to intervene to better control insurers, stop claims payment delays that last for up to 2 weeks and provide a replacement car when necessary.
