Saudi Arabia – Health insurance proposal for citizens

The “Al Madina” newspaper quoted informed sources about the support of the Health Committee of the “Consultative Assembly” (Shura Council) for a proposal amending the fourth article of the health insurance system as follows:
“providing health insurance to citizens in both the private and governmental sectors by imposing a deductible not exceeding 5% of provided health services and establishing a governmental fund for this objective”.
Moreover, the newspaper said that the proposal includes exempting the lower income persons from paying the deductible as will be set by the proposed governmental fund.
