Dr. Helmut Schuehsler, Chairman and CEO of “TVM Capital Healthcare Partners” described the health care sector as the “main economic driver” in the Middle East, North African and other emerging countries in South East Asia. His statement was made in the “Healthcare Business International” conference in Westminster in the British capital London.
During his speech Dr. Helmut Schuehsler said: “the health care sector in emerging markets will have a great role to play in compensating for the slower growth in North America and Western Europe” indicating that a range of growth factors will support growth in the Middle East and North Africa such as: population aging, ongoing population growth, spread of chronic diseases, increase in health care spending, and the higher income level of households.
According to the statistics, the level of healthcare spending in the Gulf Cooperation Countries increased during the past years at a compound annual growth rate of 11% over five years (2010-2014).
