UAE – 7 million without chronic disease insurance

A large number of the citizens of the UAE could lose all their savings, which they accumulated over long working years due to a chronic disease because 76% of citizens and residents i.e. 7 million persons do not have insurance against chronic diseases according to a recent study by Zurich International Insurance in the Middle East region. They indicated that 8 out of 10 persons in the country choose not to spend a small amount to obtain insurance against chronic diseases. Therefore, they could lose all savings or a large part of savings if they are hit by a chronic disease. According to the study, 97 of the population consider that they will not be affected by a chronic disease in the future.
