Egypt – EGP 23 billion insurance premiums in 2016

Mr. Sherif Samy the chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority said that the authority is keen on promoting the insurance sector, which is considered to be very important in the Egyptian economy. Insurance sector premiums are expected to reach EGP 23 billion in year 2016 and related investments will be close to EGP 60 billions.
He confirmed that the Authority is working with all the parties of the insurance sector and he stressed on the role played by insurance brokers who constitute a force through 62 brokerage companies and more than 8400 individual brokers.
