Egypt – Annual insurance premiums exceed EGP 17 billion

Direct premiums of insurance companies exceeded EGP 17 billion by the end of the last financial year, which ended in June 2016, achieving a growth rate of 12% and an insurance surplus of EGP 2.3 billion, which represents a growth of 11.6% over the previous period.
Mr. Sherif Samy the chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority said that the investments of insurance companies exceeded EGP 57 billion, which represents a growth rate of 9% of the previous year.
