Dr Haidar Al Yousuf, director of health funding at Dubai Health Authority said that the number of enrollees in the SAADA health insurance scheme in Dubai reached currently 110 thousand citizens, confirming that only a small percentage did not register in the program.
Moreover, Dr. Al Yousuf added that around 20 to 30 citizens are newly enrolled every day noting that they did not have previously health insurance or a government-sponsored program in the Emirate of Dubai.
After the issuance of the Law No “11” of year 2013 concerning the health insurance in the Emirate of Dubai, the Emirate witnessed a boom in health investments with an increase in the number of private hospitals and clinics. And this was one of the objectives of the law.
