“Al Hayat” was informed that the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance has determined the period of compensation for “visitors” in its updates related to the health insurance card for visitors. It would be “possible to file a claim for compensation within a period not exceeding 60 days from the settlement of medical expenses by the visitor, and the company will have to indemnify the insured within 30 working days”.
The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance confirmed that “if the treatment is covered and is included in the benefits of the contract, no amount is charged to the insured except the deductible. If the identity or the residency permit expired and the hospital declined treatment although the insurance card is inforce, the ministry of interior will be free to implement its own rules in this regard”.
