The health committee of the Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia approved the amendment of the fourth article of the health insurance system in order for the state to provide primary health care services to citizens through a health insurance program offered by a government fund, which allows the provision of health services in both the public and private sectors.
And according to “Al Riyadh newspaper”, the suggested proposal of the member of the consultative assembly Mr. Khaled Al Saif with the participation of the previous member Mr. Khaled Al Muheisen says that the beneficiary will pay a deductible, which will be levied by the fund provided it does not exceed 5% of the cost of provided health services.
The newspaper said that the person incapable of paying this financial deductible will be exempted from the payment according to the rules of the proposed government fund, indicating that the fund will include all primary health care services.
