UAE – AED 37 billion insurance premiums in 2015

The Insurance Authority announced that the premiums written in all insurance branches reached AED 37 billion last year posting a 10.2% increase compared to year 2014. The annual report issued by the Authority confirmed that the investment funds of the sector reached AED 45.7 billion during year 2015, whereas the shareholders’ equity of national insurance companies reached AED 17.5 billion. Moreover, property and liability insurance premiums increased from AED 24.9 billion in year 2014 to AED 27.5 billion in year 2015 whereas personal insurance and savings premiums reached AED 9.5 billion during last year.
H.E Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri Minister of Economy and chairman of the Insurance Authority said that “the size of premiums written for all insurance branches reached AED 37 billion, which is a 10.2% increase compared to AED 33.5 billion written during year 2014”.
