Dr. Maher “Sheikh Hasan”, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan said that “the insurance sector regulation will be shifted to the central bank starting from the middle of next year after completing all the necessary procedures”.
Dr. Sheikh Hasan showed in a statement to “Al Ghad” that this decision was taken in the beginning of the current year but will necessitate a reform of insurance legislation through the parliament.
Moreover, the previous council of ministers led by Mr. Abdullah Ensour agreed last February on a proposal of the service, infrastructure, and social affairs committee to shift insurance regulation to the central bank as it is part of its duties.
