London market insurers need to be more careful when handling policyholders' confidential data, according to a leading lawyer.
Speaking during the energy workshop at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) conference this week, Tim Taylor, partner at Clyde & Co, explained that insurers need to better protect clients' risk and claims handling information.
He said that corporates pass insurers commercially sensitive information that risks being passed around the market and potentially published in the trade press.
