Kuwait – Insurer requests the health ministry to settle USD 200 million

At a time when the Ministry of Health suffers from the exhaustion of its budget for overseas treatment, an international insurance company, which deals with the ministry requested it to settle USD 200 million (KD 60 million) against its services.
“Al Jarida” said that an international insurance company dealing with the Ministry of Health requested it lately to settle USD 200 million against its services covering the period from May 2015 to May 2016.
Medical sources said that the State Audit Bureau of Kuwait requested the ministry previously to urgently decrease the percentage of this company from 27.5% to 25% as stated in the contract since the percentage increase (2.5 percent), which represents millions of US dollars should be reimbursed by this company to the state. However, the ministry still did not address the request of the State Audi Bureau of Kuwait.
