The statistics of the Insurance Authority showed that the total insurance complaints during the first half of year 2016 increased by 137% compared to the same period of year 2015 indicating that it received 3554 complaints during the first half of the current year, of which 92% is related to the motor sector. It confirmed to “Emarat Al Youm” that it was successful in resolving 96.9% of the total number of complaints.
Moreover, two insurance brokers identified the low level of insurance awareness as the reason for the increase in the number of complaints. For example the insured does not read well the conditions of the policy; he might also look for very low prices. They indicated that the price of the insurance contract will reflect directly on the quality of services obtained by the insured during the maintenance of the vehicle.
