Egypt – New Insurance Law proposal to be submitted to the public

Mr. Sherif Samy the chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority said that the Authority will submit the changes to the “Insurance Regulation and Supervision Law” to the public for consultation during the next month of November.
He added in statements to “Al Mal” that the Authority wants to promote non-banking financial services in order to boost investments.
He clarified in a statement issued by the Investment minister after a meeting with Mr. Samy that new regulatory changes will address Takaful, microinsurance, Health insurance, Governance, licensing rules of insurance professionals, and reserving methodologies.
