UAE – Health insurance related penalties set

The decision of the executive council No “7” of year 2016 has set the fees and fines related to health insurance in Dubai which were issued by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai executive council. The fees and penalties range between AED 350 thousand and AED 500 thousand. Moreover, a fine of AED 50 thousand is imposed if the insurance company does not comply with authorization rules or in case health insurance activities are undertaken in the Emirate without authorization or after the expiry of such an authorization.
The decision mentions 56 contravention and penalties related to health insurance among which: AED 10 thousand in case the insurance broker and the TPA do not comply with the authorization rule and AED 5 thousand in case the health service provider does not comply with the authorization rule.
