Egypt – Competition Authority against abuse in health insurance

The Egyptian Competition Authority which fights monopolistic practices decided to warn the Insurance Federation of Egypt and the Egyptian Health Care Management Society about the protocol they signed together and which is against the law protecting competition. Therefore, the Authority asked them both to take an administrative action according to article (20) of the competition protection law in order to change the protocol and amend the articles, which are against competition.
Dr Mona El-Garf the president of the Authority clarified in statements today that the board of directors in its last meeting ruled that is against the protocol signed between the Insurance Federation of Egypt and the Egyptian Health Care Management Society.
