An official of the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance told “Aleqtisadiah” that the insurance to be provided to domestic workers by citizens will not be compulsory. And it is not included in the current plans of the Council although it is ready.
He also clarified that the license of private companies, which not insure their Saudi employees, will be withdrawn after the adoption of the model insurance contract and the statistical examination of Saudis registered in social insurance and the private sector to ensure they obtain their right for insurance. The deadline for these registrations will be April 2017.
Mr. Faisal Al Rakaf direct of client services at the health insurance council said that the cover of domestic workers was an old plan since 2009 and is not currently considered although the text is ready but it is not compulsory for individuals.
