Health insurance companies in Saudi Arabia defined their role in developing health care within the National Transformation Programme along three essential pillars such as the speed in providing service, relying on the public sector for services not available elsewhere, and providing service at a low cost and high quality.
Dr. Ayman Al-Sulaimani medical director at BUPA spoke yesterday in a seminar about the National Transformation Programme and the development of the health care system which was organized by the Saudi Council For Health Specialties at the Training and Scholarships General Department of the Ministry of Health (Jeddah). He revealed the role of health insurance companies in developing health care with the National Transformation Programme of which health is the most important pillar. The objectives include increasing life expectancy from 74 to 80 years. So in order to achieve this goal they have to focus on preventive medicine and take advantage of primary health care.
